Frequently asked questions

Can I pay my service charge by card?

No. Residential service charges must be paid by Direct Debit or bank transfer. This is consistent with standard leasehold practice and avoids card processing fees being added to your service charge account.

What if I dispute a charge?

You can raise a dispute through the portal by flagging the specific demand or transaction. Your property manager will review and respond within 5 working days. Formal disputes can be escalated to the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber).

How often are demands issued?

Service charge demands are typically issued twice yearly (advance demands based on budget), with a year-end reconciliation. Your portal will notify you when a new demand is issued.

How do I register for portal access?

Existing leaseholders of Praesidius-managed buildings will receive a registration invite by email. If you have not received this, contact your property manager directly.
